Not all is lost - Jackson
Despite a share of spoils with CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup Group B clash, caretaker coach Willem Jackson is confident that Platinum Stars can sill progress to knockout stages.

Dikwena played to a 1-1 draw in a match that they should have won. Bongi Ntuli had given Dikwena the lead for the better part of the match but the visitors were allowed to equalize later on. Now Dikwena’s progression depends on results of other teams. Dikwena remain at the bottom of Group B with two points. Jackson refuses to throw in the towel.

“There’s still six points to play for. Hopefully we can get all six. Hopefully Sfaxien will lose their two games. If they lose two games and we get six points then we go up. We are still under pressure. We will be looking to see the results between Mbabane Swallows and Sfaxien. If Swallows can beat Sfaxien and we beat MC Alger and Sfaxien must lose two games and we get the six points, then we stand a chance,” Jackson tells Platinumstars.com.

Jackson will be hoping that Dikwena players will be in fine form when they take on MC Alger in Algeria next week Friday.
“We need three points. We will push to get the three points. It’s going to be tough. The youngsters are geared up for this and hopefully everything will come right for us on the day,” said Jackson.

Though Dikwena didn’t get maximum points, Jackson was encourages by the way Dikwena accounted themselves against Sfaxien at home.

“We scored a goal. It was good for us. You could see that we can attack. We just had slight problem in defence. We lost a little bit of concentration and that’s why we conceded that goal. Overall the guys played well. They attacked a lot. You could see that they were more positive going forward. We really hoped that we could get all the three points but we had to be satisfied with a point,” said Jackson.
